The Adventure begins
In 2008, we harvested our first olives and produced our own oil. In 2022, we obtained organic certification.
Our oil is produced from several olive varieties typical of the Maremma region: Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Correggiolo, and the pollinator Pendolino.
The olive grove faces north, is grass-covered, and is fertilized exclusively with organic products.
We begin harvesting as soon as the mill opens, usually in early October, when the olives are rich in polyphenols. This results in an oil with a more bitter and spicy flavor, but also with a much higher antioxidant content, which is beneficial to our health.
All olives are manually harvested and pressed within 24 hours.

Da sempre innamorati della Maremma, con mia moglie Anda abbiamo acquistato questi terreni nel 2005, oramai abbandonati da diversi anni.

Montiano is a small village in the municipality of Magliano in Toscana, famous for its imposing walls built to defend against Saracen pirates.

Montiano is a very ancient village, still surrounded by mighty walls. Its name may derive from the cult of Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and gates, from whom one of Rome’s seven hills, the Janiculum, takes its name.
The name Mont Iano appears on a map of the Maremma in the Gallery of Maps at the Vatican Museums.
The olive grove is located 170 meters above sea level.
